Yang Lu MS is the first ever, and currently the only, Chinese Master Sommelier in the world. He is the consultant for Shangri-La Group and multiple Michelin-Starred Restaurants , as well as the Founder of Grapea Institute. Yang was the champion of Best Sommelier Greater China Competition 2014, China Sommelier Competition 2010, China’s Best Sommelier of French Wines 2010 & Penfolds Sommelier Competition 2008. He graduated Viticulture & Winemaking Degree at Niagara College (2007). Besides being the leading figure of sommelier profession, Yang is also one of the finest wine educators in China, regularly teaching WSET & master classes for various regions. He has appeared in numerous TV and media, including CNN, Wall Street Journal & CCTV. Yang has received many awards, such as “Power List” (Wine Magazine), “China Wine Ambassador” (Hurun Report), “Young Hope” (French government). Yang lives and breathes wine, and feels fortunate and humbled to be on the journey of wine.
