Tim has spent his professional life surrounded by luxury and premium lifestyle brands. After a formative year at Art College, a Bachelors degree in European Business with Marketing and French set him on the path to his current position of Sales & Marketing Director at Ornellaia. Summer jobs in France led to his first job in London at a Media Relations agency specialising in French luxury Lifestyle brands. A childhood spent between living overseas and boarding school, passing through the Duty Free shops on the way, formed an international mindset and an interest in Cognac. Seven years as Attaché de Presse for Rémy Martin Cognac were spent learning about brand marketing and the following five years rebuilding a Cognac house purchased by a Russian investor enlightened him to the harsh realities of business at the sharp end. In 2011 he was recruited by Ornellaia as an Area Manager, adding the role of Marketing Manager in 2013. For the past four years he has been responsible for all Commercial activities and his mission has been clear ever since – position Ornellaia among the world’s greatest wines.

13th September 2019, 8.00 pm : an online auction curated by Sothebys closes and Ornellaia announces a donation of $312,000 to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation during an exclusive evening at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. The donation will support an innovative access program called “Mind’s Eye”, created by the Guggenheim’s education department to help individuals who are blind or have low visionto discover and experience contemporary art through all their senses.
Tim Banks –Marketing & Sales Director of Ornellaia will share how the Ornellaia Vendemmia d’Artista project has grown from a festive 20th anniversary dinner into one of the wine world’s most successful and sustainable art projects in the space of 11 years. Since its inception, the project has donated millions of dollars to arts Foundations around the world, has strengthened the image of Ornellaia in the wine world and beyond, has contributed to the economic sustainability of the company while allowing Ornellaia to become an actor in the field of cultural sustainability.
