Roberta leads the Italian practice of international law firm, Withers, from its offices in Milan and Padua. She focuses on corporate, commercial and real estate cross-border transactions with emphasis on family businesses and the food and beverage sector in particular. Roberta acts as the point of reference for many Italian companies doing business around the world and for foreign companies and individuals investing in Italy. Her legal training and experience in various jurisdictions, together with an in-depth knowledge of many legal systems and foreign laws, have heightened her ability to synthesize the principles of civil law (European law) and common law (Anglo-Saxon system). She has lectured and written extensively about the Italian food sector and specifically on the topic of wine, with particular regard to export regulations and internationalization. Roberta is the first Italian woman to become a partner of a city firm in London, and the first to be named‘ ‘Female Lawyer of the year’ by Toplegal (Italy’s premium law directory). She did her law degree at the University of Padua and was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1994. She is an honorary treasurer of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in London, a member of the International Bar Association, the Fondazione Bellisario and the 30% Club.
