Marilisa Allegrini

Marilisa Allegrini was born in Verona and graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation from the University of Verona. In 1980 she made the definitive move to join the Company as Sales and Communication Manager. Due to her natural and instinctive passion for wine, her determination and tireless efforts in markets around the world, she steadily contributed to building the reputation of the Company. But Marilisa’s interest was not directed exclusively to the Valpolicella: her willingness to take on new challenges led her to a fascinating adventure in Tuscany where, in 2001, with her brother Walter, she founded Poggio al Tesoro in Bolgheri. Marilisa’s passion for excellence in wine was expressed again in 2007 with the acquisition of San Polo, a wonderful location in Montalcino, symbol of Italian oenology for over a hundred years. In 2008, Marilisa fulfilled her father Giovanni’s lifelong dream of acquiring Villa Della Torre, a Renaissance complex of astounding beauty designed by the great master architect Giulio Romano. This Villa is surrounded by one of the most important and historic vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica area. Marilisa Allegrini is president of ISWA and holds several institutional positions: she is on the board of directors of Sace, on the governing board of the Bolgheri Wine Consortium, and a member of the Donne del Vino, of the Famiglie Storiche and of the international association, Women of the Vine & Spirits. In 2018 she was also appointed to the governing board of the Fondazione Arena di Verona. Under her leadership, the Allegrini group has also initiated close collaborations with Intrapresae Guggenheim, Hermitage Museum and Fondazione Altagamma.
