President & CEO of Mastroberardino
In 1990, after completing his studies in Economics, Piero Mastroberardino dedicated himself to scientific research. He is a full professor of business management at the Italian State University. Throughout his career he has published several articles and books on this topic. Since 1990 he has been involved in his family business, Mastroberardino Wine Group, an historical family firm established in Irpinia more than two centuries ago. In 1997 he became CEO, and he is currently the President and CEO. He represents the tenth generation of the Mastroberardino family vintners. His family has preserved for generations the local indigenous viticulture of Irpinia, a small wine region located in the mountains of Campania, promoting the message of the historical, classical grape varietals of Italy worldwide. Piero Mastroberardino is the President of the “Istituto del Vino Italiano di Qualità – Grandi Marchi”, an association founded by some of the most prominent and prestigious wine families operating in Italy. He is also the President of the Gruppo Vino of Federvini, the national association representing the interests of wine business entrepreneurs. Piero Mastroberardino is a member of the Accademia della Vite e del Vino, the Accademia dei Georgofili in Firenze, the Accademia Italiana di Economia Aziendale. He is also a member of several scientific boards of international journals and reviews. He has had various roles in public and private national institutions (Confindustria, Federalimentare, FederVini, Simest, Fondazione CUEIM, Comitato Nazionale per la Tutela dei Vini DOC, Comité Vins in Bruxelles). His professional and entrepreneurial life is linked with artistic activities, such as drawing and painting, narrative and poetry. He has published two novels (“Umano Errare” and “Giro di Vite”), one collection of poetry (“All’origine dei sensi”) and one artist’s book (“Frammenti”). He has presented his paintings tat personal and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
