US Brand Ambassador at Bolé Wine
Melissa Sutherland likes wine. A lot. Lucky for her, she gets to work with wine for a living. As a senior wine industry brand strategist living in New York City, Melissa has been tasting her way to the top for 15 years while learning, guiding, and motivating teams and clients in both the US and Italy. Currently, she is the USA Brand Manager for Bolé Wine, a range of wines from Italy’s latest sparkling wine denomination, Novebolle Romagna DOC Spumante. Growing brand value and equity for stakeholders is what makes Melissa tick. She is the author of the forthcoming book, “Bianchista Forever: Drinking and Appreciating Italy’s White Wines,” and she proudly wears her Italian Wine Ambassador pin earned from the Vinitaly International Academy (VIA). When not tasting or studying for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) diploma, she can be found on long runs listening to her favorite wine podcasts.

We were just one disruption away from broad industry shifts—from production to sales—and the pandemic merely accelerated changes already underway. Melissa Sutherland and Nunzio Castaldo will share their perspectives on how companies tend to react and reset, through a back-and-forth dialog. The conversation will underscore lessons learned, and will touch on key questions companies face as they rely on their resources and communities to rebuild in a playing field thriving with opportunity and creativity.
