CEO of Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)
Ian Harris joined WSET in 2002 as Chief Executive following a long and successful career in sales and marketing for the wine and spirit industry, including 10 years with Waverley Vintners, followed by 15 years with the Seagram Spirits and Wine Group in the UK and France. In his time at WSET, Ian has overseen the transformation of the organisation into the largest global provider of wine, spirits and sake qualifications, with annual student numbers growing from 10,000 in 2002 to over 100,000 in 2019. WSET now offers nine qualifications across four levels of progressive study, in more than15 languages through 800+ Approved Programme Providers in more than 70 countries. Ian holds the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year’s Honours List 2018.
