"The future of online wine sales in Russia. The future of the Cavist profession in Russia."
The issue of legalizing online retail sales of alcohol in Russia has been discussed for several years. The Ministry of Trade actively supports lifting the restrictions, while the Ministry of Health and Police oppose the idea, arguing that it will lead to an increase in the number of crimes committed while intoxicated, as well as the development of an illegal alcohol market. In addition, this decision could increase the risk of selling alcohol to minors. Why has Russia been less quick to adopt onlines sales than other countries, despite the fact that digital commerce is more traceable and transparent from the point of view of fiscal authorities? Perhaps we can glean some clues from how other countries have rolled out digital platforms and associated regulations. Will online technologies ever fully replace physical wine shops? What direction will the wine market take in Russia? And how does the Cavist fit into the puzzle?
