"Using data to see what consumers are drinking yesterday, today & tomorrow"
(Presenters– Adam Teeter and Joshua Malin)
When does rosé season start? What are the wines that Americans like but critics don’t like to talk about (cough, Moscato)? Are Prosecco and Champagne substitutes or do consumers look for them at different times of the year? We’ll explore questions like these using the recently released VinePair Audience Insight Index. Nielsen scan data can paint broad outlines of consumer trends. Wine app ‘check-in’ data presents detailed, though highly self-selected data. Drawing on tens of millions of reader sessions and hundreds of millions of web searches, the VinePair Audience Insight Index is a vast, powerful tool that measures wine variety-by-variety interest over time. During this session, we’ll take a peek inside the data warehouse that houses the collective wine interests of the most-read wine, beer & spirits publication in America.
